The music industry was one of the first industries to take a step towards digitization, more by force than by choice. As consumption models changed, piracy threatened revenues and artists had to adapt quickly. Music industry revenues were divided into three categories: concert tickets, digital reproductions, and merchandising sales. In addition, the digital era allowed artists to be in direct contact with their fans without the need of a traditional media company to approach them.

We fans are capable of doing things that escape logic and reason: waiting all night at the door of a hotel to see a singer, camping for days to get the first rows of that desired concert. Something so passionate is not limited to when the last concert ends. We want to share it.

That's why Fangazing is your official merchandising store. Because we know that there is nothing more important than sharing your greatest passions with your loved ones.

The Challenge

Although the music sector is used as an example when talking about how to digitize an industry, it has only transitioned from physical to digital formats. It had not yet exploited digitalization for merchandising sales or content generation. As a result, third-party companies have successfully exploited these two areas. Artists and record labels needed a platform that would allow them to control their content and sell products directly to their fans.

"A startup needs to adapt its business according to market knowledge. Kanecode is the perfect tool, because it allows the business to evolve."

Kanecode first developed a content generator for Love Of Lesbian. The content generator is an intuitive, easy-to-use tool enabling artists to manage publishing, editing, and updating content without programming skills.

This initial success attracted other artists who were interested in having their own content generator and sharing it on a single platform where they had control, so the platform was opened to new musical groups. During this transition from single-channel to multichannel sales, Oriol saw an opportunity to solve the challenge of selling official merchandise.

Fangazing built an e-commerce site, where artists manage the entire merchandising process?from product design to delivery to fans' homes. The success of this new sales channel attracted

the interest of major brands in the entertainment world, inculding Movistar and Warner Bros. These companies became Fangazing users, creating specific solutions to their sales needs.
